Using your own domain

Official site

If you are serious about your site, having a domain is a must. Good luck finding a good domain available but if you already have your domain registered all you need to do is create A record pointing to 67.228.164.162 and alias (CNAME) "www" pointing the your domain without the "www". Each registrar has a different user interface and/or control panel how to do this. If you need help with this we can do it for you free of charge. Fill in the Contact us form at the bottom of our site for assistance.

Note that if you are using your own domain you will be able to access the admin area only after the A records changes take effect.

Staging site

We have the following advice for you. If you have live site it is a good idea to create staging site till you are ready to launch the new site. This way you don't have to compromise your audience to see the site while is being developed. When site is ready - changing the domain is easy. Can be done from either visia.com - login › My sites › Edit the site in question will take you to the familiar form where you can change the domain. Then you need to proceed changing the A records as explained in the first paragraph of this page.

If your domain is new then we advice you to create 2 sites with us - one for the domain with temporary page saying that the site is coming soon, and a staging site where you will be working on your content. When you are ready - delete the site with the temporary page and change the domain of the staging site to the official domain. Be careful not to delete your staging site by mistake.
